HomeEugene to Sisters Ride

It should be becoming painfully apparent to everybody who has managed to go on one of my Thursday BMWRO group rides that the ride invariably ends at a coffee house.  Brew pubs and winery’s are out of bounds.  The August 20th ride was no exception!

Some say, an adventure ride doesn’t begin until something goes wrong.  I’m happy to tell you there was no adventure at all on this ride, just a carefree ride up and over McKenzie Pass and into Sisters for expresso and lunch.  I like Sisters, and I like Sisters Coffee Roaster.  They always serve up a consistently good drink, have a good variety of delectable pastries ( I recommend the chocolate chip zucchini bread), and is a good place to grab a quick lunch as well.

The group in search of espresso.

The ride began in Springfield.  The day was bright and sunny.  We headed east on OR 126 and then up and over on Scenic Highway 242.  As usual, not much excitement, just pleasant twist and turns with the occasional surface debris and loads of well behaved downhill bicyclists.  The return trip was uneventful, thankfully.  Although we were witness to the aftermath of a serious accident  of a vehicle having left the highway and accompanying rear ending.  It all looked very unpleasant and we were fortunate to have lingered on the patio of Sisters Coffee Roasters for the length of time we did.  Karma.

Until the next ride…..
