The season's first Thursday Morning ride was the nearly the same as our first ride the last couple of years. Each one has been great, maybe this one was the best. We rode Territorial Road and Hwy 38 to Drain and on to Elkton. It was such great ride we were whoopin' and hollerin' as we pulled our helmet off. We had yet another filling breakfast at Arlene's and then posed for the required pictures. Then it was south on Hwy 138 but this time we added a loop on Tyee Rd that more closely follows the Umpqua River. Beautifil! After a brief pow wow in Sutherlin we road on to Oakland, and because fearless leader didn't take any wrong turns this year, we were able to follow Elkhead Rd back to I-5. We opted to cross I-5 and return to Eugene via Territorial Rd again.
This was a fantastic ride on an unseasonably warm day in mid-May. I am sure all the riders present, Jim Breen, Doug Tewksbury, Dan Russell, and Beb Metzger all agree that was a worthy kick-off for the season
