On or around the first Saturday of each month, the Northwest Region hosts a local ride. In August, we’re taking the show across the state…and beyond! If mileage is your thing, we’ve got just the weekend for you. Join us for a journey to Snake River country!

Day 1 will be a back-road meander from Portland, through Tygh Valley and Heppner, Ukiah, and La Grande, featuring all the best roads northern Oregon has to offer. Our destination is Enterprise, where you have the option to unwind at the Ponderosa Motel or camp at the Log House RV Park and Campground. Meet us in Enterprise if you’re not able to start with us in Portland.

Day 2 will include a lap around the Snake, a 400+ mile marathon into Idaho and Washington. Highlights will include the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway, the Old Whitebird Highway, the Old Spiral Highway, and Rattlesnake Canyon – all in a single day! Or you can relax and kick around Enterprise…because the Wallowa County Fair is in town!

Day 3 will feature a detour back into Washington to enjoy Bickleton and Klickitat Canyons. Or, if you’ve had enough, I-84 offers a more direct route home.

This is not a ride for the faint of heart. Each day will present a curvaceous and enduring challenge. Your bike — and yourself — need to be in tiptop shape to have a good time. So make sure your bike has been serviced and your tires are new before departure day arrives. If this sounds like your kind of event, here’s what you need to do:
1.  Click the Register Now button in the upper right of this screen. The ride is limited to 20 attendees. Your registration entitles you to join us for dinner on Friday and Saturday night. The club will cover the cost of one of those dinners. Other meals and all beverages are on your own tab.   You will be responsible for lodging and all other incidentals.
2. Call the Ponderosa Motel (541)426-3186 in Enterprise to secure a room. 14 rooms (2 queens; $129.57/night) have been reserved. Ask for one of the “BMW Riders/David Peterson” block of rooms. Contact the Loghouse RV Park & Campground (541)426- 4027 for camping information/reservations. No prearrangements have been made at the Loghouse.
3. Watch your email for announcements about times, locations, and other incidentals.
Contact David Peterson at (503)327-5592 or if you have questions.
